Budget Shumdget

I’ve been trying to come to terms with the word “BUDGET” for years. Husband is all about “BUDGET” “were those shoes on the budget? Was that trip to target on the budget…blah… blah… blah BUDGET?!”

As you can tell by my fabulous attitude, I have not come to terms with a real BUDGET, and I know that I should, I have student loans, credit cards, rent and trying to save money and that all gets done and paid when you stick to budget. I’m working on it and maybe I will figure it out one day, but instead I have found ways to justify what I spend and some ways to save, and even get some money back, so I don’t feel bad about it.

… and how much I saved…

I am in no ways a financial adviser or someone you should look to on how to stick to a budget, but I do fancy myself a master at saving money on things I want to buy so that I can reason that I must get it, and these are some of my resources!

  • Ebates
This is great for online shopping!! Most stores you go to are on the site and they give you anywhere from 10% to 2% cash back on what you buy, they even have promo codes and coupons for a lot of the stores. Their customer service is usually pretty great¬†too, if for some reason your cash doesn’t show up just email them and they will fix it. You also get cash for referring people so her you go friends Try Ebates!
It doesn’t seem like much, but it adds up! Plus the dress was on sale and I had free shipping, I’ll take it!
  • E-Rewards
This is a little more work, but it’s not too bad. You take surveys and get points for each survey then you turn your points in for rewards, I usually turn mine in for American Eagle, iTunes or Starbucks gift card, but they have a ton of gift cards even frequent flyer miles. Sometimes you get half way through a survey and they say you don’t qualify so you get twenty-five cents which is annoying, but like I said its a little more work. ¬†Yay Surveys
  • Ibotta
So far this one is my least favorite because it is too much work, but cash back on things you need to buy is better than nothing. Its more for groceries, sometimes beauty and wellness things. Using the app you look through the store you went to and what rebates are available, then you have to take a poll or watch a short video to open them, then you scan the product, then once you have done that for all your rebates you take a picture of your receipt. It’s pretty confusing the first time you use it, like I said it’s not my favorite, but sometimes cash back is cash back!

This one is taking me a little while to build up, but $4 is better than no dollars!

I do get a some perks if you use my links for Ebates and Ibotta, I’m not sure if there is a referral program for e-rewards, but if you do sign up share with your friends and you will get some of the perks too!

Its basically empty inside, but I saved an extra 20% on it!

Coupons and Discount Codes

If you are shopping online the place to go to before you check out isRetail Me Not I feel that most people know about this but I wanted to share anyways, they have tons of promo codes usually.

Cartwheel from Target, is wonderful if you shop at Target download the app. Sometimes the savings are 5% and its like thirty cents off your bill, but sometimes they have 20% of clearance shoes and clothes, and that is very exciting to me!!! You can look through the offers or when you are about to go in the check out line just scan what ever you got and it will let you know if there is a coupon.

Saving money and getting cash back make me feel a little better about what I am buying, but I probably should start listening to all this budget talk.
